The Talent Gap No One Is Talking About: Working Parents Are Ready. Work Isn’t.

Feb 26, 2026

There’s a quiet disconnect happening right now. Organizations say they can’t find top talent. At the same time, experienced working parents are searching for meaningful work and can't find it. I'm having conversations on both sides. This gap is costing everyone.

Working Parents Are Not “Stepping Back.”

They’re stepping into a different season. Many have 10, 15, even 20+ years of experience. They’ve led teams. Built systems and managed complex projects. Yet in this season of life there is misalignment being pulled on both ends of demands...home and work. It becomes incompatible with real life. Especially during summer breaks or childcare shortages.

Organizations Don’t Have a Talent Shortage.

This isn’t a motivation problem. It’s a design problem. We have a traditional work model issue. There is a highly capable workforce sitting on the sidelines or underemployed because traditional full-time structures no longer fit their lives.

Imagine if roles were redesigned to include: 4-day work weeks, Project-based deliverables, Fractional leadership, Remote or hybrid models, School-hour schedules, and/or Seasonal flexibility.

The talent pool expands immediately. The loyalty increases. Burnout decreases. Performance improves.

What If We Designed Work Differently?

This is why I’m building a curated network of experienced professionals seeking flexible, redesigned, and high-performance work structures. It's not a job board. It's not entry-level placements.

A vetted pool of professionals ready to contribute. If organizations are willing to rethink how roles are structured. I’m also partnering with forward-thinking organizations willing to pilot more modern workforce models.

Because the future of work isn’t about the best salary and benefits. It’s about alignment.

For Working Parents

If you are experienced, seeking flexible, fractional, remote, or redesigned roles and ready to contribute at a high level..you don’t need to lower your standards. You need a better-aligned structure.

If your background aligns with current or upcoming client opportunities, I’ll personally reach out to schedule a conversation.

For Organizations

If you’re struggling to find top talent, the issue may not be supply. It may be how roles are designed. Explore the work redesign workshop or online course: Lead the Change

The future of work isn’t about choosing between career and family. It’s about designing systems that allow both to exist. In markets that are slower to adapt, those willing to rethink structure will win the talent race.
